Halo of Hardness

A wildcard Smelba.

A wild-card is a rare piñata which is visually different from a regular piñata of that species, and has a far greater value than a regular piñata. To know if a piñata is a wildcard look at its value. A wildcard piñata will have a value of 10,000 or more coins higher than its regular value in the original Viva Piñata game, or ten times its original value in Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise.

In Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise, each species has three wild-card kinds, which are different in appearance. Unfortunately, only two out of the three unique kinds for a species can be obtained by local gameplay. The last one can only be obtained by trading with other players who have obtained the wild-card kind wanted. In other games, there is only one type of wild-card species available.

Wild Card Message

The message that shows up when you get a Wildcard Piñata.

To get a wildcard in Viva Piñata you need to follow all the romance requirements of the breed of piñata you want and keep breeding them until you see the normal romance heart flashing. If the parents of a piñata are wildcards there is a high likelihood of the child also being a wildcard.

In Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise it is much easier to get a wildcard piñata. Having at least six of the piñata species in the same garden when romancing one of that species will result in the hearts on the field flashing. Collecting all the hearts before reaching the partner will result in a "Wildcard Bonus" which indicates that a Wildcard piñata will hatch from the egg. A "Twin Bonus" can also be obtained by completing the challenge within a certain time limit, which results in two piñatas hatching out of the same egg, and also increasing the value of the pinata slightly. To obtain the second wildcard variant of a given piñata, you must have at least four of the first wildcard variant and still six total of the same piñata (You can sell four regular versions of the piñata to prevent overcrowding once you have four of the first wildcard variant.) Once you have four of the first variant, you must use the first wildcard variant to mate and the next bred wildcard should have a different wildcard feature.

Other Information[]

In the game Leafos said that the chances to you get a wildcard is a million to one, but this information is false as you actually have a much higher chance of getting one, at around 10,000 to one.

Leafos said in special occasions will have a chance to a wildcard piñata born.
