Viva Piñata: Party Animals is a 2007 party game released for the Xbox 360 developed by Krome Studios. Unlike other Viva Piñata games this game is based off the Viva Piñata television series, more specifically the Party Animals Championship Challenge event.
The Party Animals Championship Challenge is starting, hosted by Pecky Pudgeon and Pierre Parrybo. Four piñatas are competing to win the challenge. Whoever wins the competition will be featured on cereal boxes and appear as guests on sitcoms.
Similar to other casual Xbox 360 titles such as Fuzion Frenzy 2, Viva Piñata: Party Animals is framed as a game show, specifically the Party Animals Championship, where contestants compete against each other while hosts provide colorful commentary during the event.
Players can chose to play as one of eight characters, including Fergy Fudgehog, Hudson Horstachio, Paulie Pretztail, and Franklin Fizzlybear. During the main gameplay mode of the game, there are 3, 5, or 7 race events, and after each race one or more of the 40 mini-games are randomly selected and played to determine how much candy each player will win. The better placing players in each minigame will gain more candy, and the trophy earned for the last race taken in the event will also award candy to each player even if they place poorly during the minigame. At the end of the event the player with the most candy wins.
During the races players can pick up powerups such as the Fiesta Missile, Pollenator, and Water Bomb.
