Viva Piñata Wiki

Only the most impressive of gardeners can attract a Roario! The Roario will only appear when there are lots of different types piñatas living in the garden.

Leafos after the Roario appears.

The Roario is a yellow lion piñata. Although they all have manes around their faces, it does not necessarily mean that they’re all male, as they’re all commonly confused as the same sex. They are prideful creatures, who hold high confidence at the top of the food chain.

The Roario is considered one of the hardest piñata to obtain, mainly because of the amount of Doenuts and Zumbugs are required for it to visit and become resident. Although getting the Zumbug may be somewhat difficult, you won’t be able to achieve the Roario until the Zumbug has become a resident.

The Roario, also known as the King of the Jungle, or even Piñata Island, terrifies all piñata that pass it. They squeal and run away as fast as they can, knowing full well that the Roario is capable of gulping them down with one swallow.

The King of the Animals is a firm believer in the class system. Potential homes must be of sufficient worth and contain Doenut and Zumbug subjects. As the ultimate big spider, it also has some Mouse issues.

Appearance[]

The Roario is a yellow lion piñata that has a blue band on its face which makes it look like it is wearing a mask around its eyes. Its paws are a brighter blue with triangular patterns on them, and its flank has a bright blue sun-shaped marking on it. A puffy rainbow mane surrounds its face, and its blue-striped tail ends in a multicolored tuft. Its irises are green.

King Roario

King Roario.

King Roario is one of the main characters of the Viva Piñata TV series. He is the king of Piñata Island and looks just like a common Roario. He has a colorful mane and is usually always wearing a crown. He is also extremely arrogant, as he lets being king go straight to his head. Sometimes, not always, he assists Hudson and his friends in their times of need.

Commonly Asked Questions[]

How do I get a Roario to move in? It keeps wandering off![]

  • Since you're not guaranteed to get the same visitor multiple times, getting a wild Roario to eat enough Doenuts and Zumbugs may take a bit of time. If you're open to a bit of piñata-bashing, you can whack some and entice the Roario to eat its Life Candy. First, never let your Doenut or Zumbug count drop below 5. You need 5 of each to meet the Roario's Resident requirements, and if its requirements are no longer met, it will leave your garden without finishing its meal. Start your garden off with at least 5 of each, and preferably 7 of each so that it won't drop the count below 5 when it eats one. Next, when a Roario visitor shows up, wait for it to break open one of the piñata it needs to eat. Now, quickly break open another of the 3 it needs to eat, and drop its Life Candy in amongst the other candies from the first one. Quickly repeat for the other two that it needs to eat. If you're successful, your visitor will have gobbled up everything it needs to meet the Resident requirements, and will move in during its first or second visit.

What does it mean for a garden to be "worth" chocolate coins?[]

  • A garden's value is determined by the combined base value of every piñata and Decoration in it. Meeting the value requirement for the Roario is surprisingly easy. 5 Doenuts and 5 Zumbugs make a total of 28,500 coins already! Also, a Captain's Cutlass adds 10,000 coins to the garden value and keeps Professor Pester and the Ruffians out. Another option is to use valuable fences to keep the 5 Doenuts and 5 Zumbugs in. A Mine is also very valuable and can help you make a decent profit.

Does the Roario get eaten by other piñata?[]

  • No, it is one of the very few piñata that cannot be eaten by others.

Is there an easy way to get the Roario as a resident?[]

  • Technically, yes. However, this method requires you to have already gotten a Roario the hard way on another account, and it doesn't get you the Roario's Appear or Visit awards. If you have Gretchen Fetchem's unlocked and another account already has the Roario as a resident, go to the account that has the Roario and fetch one. When you receive the notification that the hunter has caught a piñata, exit to the main menu, sign out, and go to the account you want the Roario (that also has Gretchen unlocked). Afterwards, if you have enough coins as well, you can purchase the Roario and it’ll be in the garden. This works with all other piñata as well, as long as they can be fetched. Note that this only works in the original Viva Piñata.
