"Free the Piñatas" is the thirty-seventh episode of Viva Piñata's first season. It originally aired in North America on April 7, 2007.

Plot[]

Professor Pester creates the remote controlled Moozitron. The robot is controlled by his movement, relays his own speech, and also has a camera which Pester can use to identify the surroundings of the robot. He first tests it by dancing, and after doing a clean dance successfully, he accidentally hits himself with the robot. Hudson Horstachio comes up on stage for an event, when Paulie Pretztail complains that there was an event with free candy that was supposed to take place. Suddenly, the Moozitron comes up on stage, who dubs himself to be "Maurice Moozipan" and talks about how he will set the pinatas free. He is interrupted by a Ruffian walking over to Professor Pester where he then complains about the offering of cookies despite that not actually happening in the actual stage. This raises suspicion from the pinatas on stage. Maurice then resumes by stating that he will stop them from going to parties, but gets interrupted by a Ruffian again and accidentally orders most pinatas on the stage to go away trying to get the Ruffian to stop interrupting him. Hudson Horstachio then counters by stating that it is in fact a privilege to be able to go to parties and leaves himself. The only two remaining pinatas are Fergy Fudgehog and Paulie who dislike going to parties, who are offered to be the first recruits of the movement and accept.

Fergy then goes out to offer pinatas to sign the "Free the Piñatas" movement petition. He first offers to a Cinnamonkey, then a Chippopotamus, and then Ella Elephanilla, who initially does not realize that she's being offered by Fergy, and declines thinking that she's talking to a stranger. After Fergy complains about failing to get others in the movement, Ella recognizes Fergy and he persuades Ella to sign the petition. Paulie walks to Franklin Fizzlybear who is painting a surfboard, and convinces him to sign a petition as well by suggesting that friends do what their friends want them to do. Fergy and Paulie then confront Tina and Teddington Twingersnap and get them to sign the petition too by saying that it is cool to do so. The fake Maurice is interviewed by Pierre Parrybo, when in the middle of the conversation Professor Pester starts flailing his arm to swat a generic fly, causing Pierre to become suspicious. Maurice says that the arm waving was in fact the "Free the Piñatas" movement's salute, and then starts chanting "Free the Piñatas" on a loop, which gets broadcasted. As a result, a large portion of the island starts to subscribe to the movement. Hudson walks up to Fergy and Paulie complaining about how they're advertising the "Free the Piñatas" movement by stating that that's not the point of free speech. He curls up a poster into a ball and throws it on the ground, accidently hurting a Whirlm. Maurice then walks up and manages to convince Hudson to subscribe to the movement too. Les gets suspicious of this activity and starts a sneak mission while Maurice and Hudson do an event for the "Free the Piñatas" where they attempt to break the Cannoñata. Les notices the control panel on the back of the Moozitron and messes with the controls, causing Professor Pester to see false imagery of a roller coaster, causing him, and thus the Moozitron Maurice to act dizzy. Les messes with the controls further and Pester sees a false stampede causing him to run into a wall, damaging his control system, and causing the Moozitron to fall off the platform, breaking the Moozitron, and revealing that the Moozitron was in fact a robot to the general public.
