Viva Piñata Wiki

The Candary’s pink variant.

The Candary is a yellow bird piñata with a somewhat similar appearance to the Pudgeon. They like to chirp around and annoy the gardener, while also liking to take flight.

The Candary likes to help out around the garden, including going into mines and finding valuables, only if it’s wearing a Gas Mask.

The Candary doesn’t ever get scared, as it only really gets scared when a Buzzenge visits or is a current resident, so, while a Buzzenge is around, don't expect it to get too much done. It might even become a nuisance for a time being.

It is the evolved form of the Sparrowmint, and is the easiest form of evolution to obtain as resident.

A blue variant Candary in Trouble in Paradise.

Appearance

The Candary is a yellow canary piñata. Its very thin beak is orange, it has three yellow feathers dangling on top of its head like a cowlick, and it has brown irises. It has a small feathery tail, and small yellow and orange wings. Its petite body has an orange pattern on its belly and its legs and feet are orange.

Working in the Mine

The Candary will be able to work in the mine, just like a Diggerling. If you want your Candary to work in the Mine, you must purchase the Mine from Willy Builder and place the Gas Mask on the piñata, which can be purchased from Paper Pets (or from Gretchen Fetchem's in Pocket Paradise). Once that’s done, you will be able to direct the Candary to the Mine and it can start working. Sometimes, especially if it just came from out of the Mine, the piñata will refuse to go inside. It will be better to wait a while before directing it inside the Mine again.

With the Candary in the Mine, there is a higher chance that you will receive better items, including Sapphires, Emeralds, and even the Dragonache Egg! Your chances of getting the Dragonache Egg are increased by ~15%. In Pocket Paradise, there are no Diggerlings, and only the Candary can work in the mine.

Glitches and Errors

  • You may be able to hear the chirps of the Candary while it’s inside its house too. This may be annoying, but there is no way to fix this. This occurs in Viva Piñata and Viva Piñata: Trouble in Paradise.

In the TV Series

A female Candary in the TV series.

There appears to be several Candarys throughout the show, but the most noticeable one is this unnamed Candary blowing a piece of bubblegum.

There is also another Candary in the later episodes talking to A Boss.

Commonly Asked Questions

How does the Candary work in the Mine?

  • The Candary will work in the Mine if you have a Mine in the garden and the Candary is wearing a Gas Mask. Once done, you will be able to direct the Candary to the Mine and it will go straight to work.
